unconditional love

This picture reminds me of a nice day. I love horses very much and there are two or three in particular that are very cute. This one we call it Ruby. There's no place where I feel happier at the moment than there.
I know that the picture is a bit cut out on top but i thought about posting it anyways since i really like the lighting and the big love between them.

On even more cheerful note...yesterday was a big day for me: I managed to jog for 4 km and for a couch potato like me that is a loooot. I wouldn't have managed i think if a friend of mine wouldn't have tricked me into taking the long road, but anyways i'm glad he did . I think my face was more pinkish than my t-shirt in the end but it was worth it. I'm going for the 5 km soon

gamla Linkoping IV

This is the last picture from Gamla Linkoping. It was taken the same day with the others and what i liked about the place was the architecture of the house. It kind of reminded me of the houses in the mountains back home.

It reminds me of the houses back home also. Given the differences in where you and I call home, I find this amusing... Thu 13-Jul-2006 09:46

Hi,
It is called CITRAWARNA MALAYSIA 2006. (citra means multi and warna means colors)
Actually, it is a Malaysian version of Mardi Gras. There were 4,500 dancers and this is the biggest they have done for this event. The used to have it in a stadium but this year the had it in a square in Kuala Lumpur where all the important parades are usually held.
I think it's because next year has been designated as Visit Malaysia year.
Have a great weekend

gamla Linkoping III

the "bokeh" is ok, but try to crop the left side of the pics (the leaves - its a "dead" space). and it help to explain a bit about the pics. keep up the good work.

you are right...the subject is a little bit too spread out and probably i should have cropped it. thanks for the suggestion.
the picture was taken in gamla Linkoping the same day with the other two. The roses are in the garden of a cafe. In the background there is a jazz band. It was a really nice summer evening. The old buildings and the jazz music made it seem almost magical. Those are the moments when I think about how lucky i am to be able to experience all those nice things

I was about to comment on this pic then I noticed you've come to the same conclusion.
On problem about the pic is that there'sno main subject to focus on. Once, I took a picture of a dead leaf that was till on the tree (I was going for the color contrast). I cheated and plucked the leaves around the dead leaf.

I'm actually curious if this one will inspire the same feelings. Maybe it was the B&W that created it. This one is more cheerful I guess because of the flowers and the colour. Let me know what you guys think

i assumed that you want to emphasize the signboard and the chair as the main subject matter in your picture, yet the dustbin and those bicycles is a bit distracting to the eyes. different angle might be helpful. thats my 2 cents worth of opinion. Tue 11-Jul-2006 20:08

This picture was taken in gamla Linkoping, which is a reproduction of the old architecture in Linkoping. It is a really nice and peaceful place.

Language... has created the word "loneliness" to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word "solitude" to express the glory of being alone... Tue 11-Jul-2006 01:40

I like how that sounds! I guess it makes it less sad
Reading that I remembered a quote:
“I hold this to be the highest task for a bond between two people: that each protects the solitude of the other”
I guess some of us forget to do that and yet it is so important

thoughts...

Yesterday i took some time to think about this blog and what I want to take out of it, why i started in the first place etc. and I came to the conclusion that it is not exactly going in the direction I wanted it to go. This is why i decided to write a few words about it.

When I started this blog I saw it as an opportunity to get some opinions about my pictures and some advice on how I could improve what I'm doing. I have just started with photography so there is plenty for me to learn and I believe criticism is one method to do this. Looking around other people's fotopages I saw this as a great opportunity for me to get those people's opinion since most of them are really passionate and knowledgeable in the area. So please, any opinion about the pictures that I am posting is more than welcome since I believe in constructive criticism. Private messages or comments on the pages are both fine with me.

The second part of my blog is represented by my comments and links, which I didn't intend to be the focus of the blog. For me the focus is the pictures. But at the same time this is my first blog and I have to admit that it is fun to experiment around. Soon I realized that I could post on the page anything I would like to say. This is a new feeling for me and I'm still getting used to it. I don't want to give up posting these comments, but in the same time I am not sure how they can really be combined with the photos. So bear with me until I find the way to do this. Comments to my comments are of course welcome

I guess for me this page represents a way to learn more about photography, communicate with other people and with my friends. All three are important to me, but my primary focus will remain the pictures.

p.s. I took all the other posts off for the moment since I wanted you guys to concentrate on this one for the day. Everything will be back in place tomorrow i guess.
I really like the tattoo in the picture. These are the Chinese letters for mother and father. It belongs to somebody who means a lot to me and I believe that it really suits him. He's planning a new one now and i'm curious if he will do it in the end.
The picture was taken with my camera which is not a very good one and somehow I don't like that the jeans take so much of the picture's focus but bluring that part is not helping either.

so small and yet so cruel

I believe the only thing that I could say related to this picture are the words of D.H. Lawrence: "Men is the only animal in the world to fear". Sad but true!

----------------------------------------------------
On a more chearful note, I promissed a little surprise to a friend of mine, so here is a nice song for you: both in English and Swedish(which has nicer lyrics)... Anyone who knows a bit about soccer might find it amusing!

Oh and one more thing: If you have the opportunity you should go and see "The fast and the furious: Tokyo drift" it's a really exciting movie and has a great soundtrack. hmmmm it seems today's post turned more into a blog. Sorry about that!!

Who's da man? Zlatan...Zlatan!!!!!

What a great song... it really made my day, thank you irina the scary thing was that i allready knew the song by heart, think it is after yesterdays walk
Oh and i can relate one more quote to your picture... " even a journey on a 1000 miles must start with one singel step..." ps big hug from jakob and Carla

a picture's worth a thousand words

What I like about photography is that it's able to capture aspects that are not easily visible otherwise. This picture is very expressive to me.

-----------------------------------------
For nice pictures of people check out this fp: http://azlijamil.fotopages.com/
It is a very nice one!

Often it is hard to understand what one sees,
but it is allways easy to project what one wants to see,
I am curious what this might be....

But no matter what it is,
as long as it helps someone,
It is allways good to be seen.

Take care

The beautiful San Francisco

Since I was posting pictures of Stockholm these days, I thought about posting this one. It is a favorite of mine since it is made in San Francisco, which is another city that I really love.

outstanding subject. a blend of contemporary tech and old image of infos dissemination. Wed 5-Jul-2006 08:17

I, too, love that city. I lived a few miles south of San Fran for three years. I left California for many reasons, but this city was one of the reasons I would have stayed (if I could have afforded it!). Fri 22-Sep-2006 14:59
