Forest

I don't really know what people think about this picture. I don't know what to make of it myself. I kind of like it but there's nothing special either and it lack a focus. well...please let me know what you think about it....

The picture was taken in the forest next to where i live. I've never been there during the daytime. I always go there to jog in the evening and it's pretty nice but i didn't know how it was during the day. The other day i was so sick of studying so i decided to go for a walk and do the rest of the studying in the forest on a bench, which turned out pretty nice and relaxing. The sun was shining and it smelled like pine, which again reminded me of the mountains and forests in Romania.

* listening to: Mr. J.T. "Sexy back". Can't wait for his new album...it sounds really promissing. well...it could even sound bad I would still like him.

Dear nika....

Thanks.

I guess...you can improve it by cropping the Sun out ....the flare a bit annoying.

sunset in Linkoping

Today's picture is taken in Linkoping after a rainy day. We went to see the horses but they were not there which i was kind of sad about, but since i took my camera with me i thought about shooting some pics. Since the sky was really nice that day i decided to photograph the sunset. This is what came out.

ok now i should get back to my thesis since the deadline is tonight. Can't wait for the week-end...I'm taking a mini-holiday and enjoying some time outside. If everything goes good we'll even go out tomorrow night, which i haven't done in millions of years...hmm that makes me feel like an old granny but hopefully this will change tomorrow.

Enjoy your week-end (i hope i will )

To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching...

I'll love you forever my best friend, my mentor, my comfort... my Irina...

River

When I started this blog i thought that i would post an entry everyday..but now i realized that this is not realistic. With my thesis deadline coming up soon not only I didn't have time for posting a new entry but i also didn't get to go much outside to take some photos. well..i guess people that are interested in the page could just subscribe to the e-mail newsteller to track the changes since they won't happen that often as before.

Just noticed that Mr. Nasir looked over my fp and I'm really honored and happy that he did. I greatly admire his work. I can only hope that i will reach that level of photography one day.

Regarding today's entry, the picture was taken in Norrkoping a while ago. Loved the river there, althought the city was not as nice as i thought it would be. Yet i was really happy when Chip suggested to go there and I really had fun that day...even if as chip would say i was sleeping most of the time.

When looking at the pic this quote came into my mind: “Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; No sooner is a thing brought to sight then it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away. “ Marcus Aurelius

I like this entry, together with the quote it really as a meaning to say... Sorry I missed that trip... but we had some fun ones as well

"In good times and bad times, I'll be on your side for ever more...that's what friends are for."

the Cathedral again...

Some more photos of the Cathedral today since I really like this building. It belongs to the Swedish Church, although the first time I walked in I thought it was a Catholic one . The building looks really nice especially by night, but I guess you already saw that in a previous entry.

I have a weakness for church clocks. They always give me the impression that they're there to measure the time I have left and it's up to me to make the best of that time I guess i have this impression because of a church in San Francisco I have seen once, called "Old St. Mary's Church". The building has an inscription below the clock that writes: "Son observe the time and fly from evil" (Ecclesiasticus 4:23). I guess the inscription really spoke to me and now every time I see a church clock I have to think about that. It seems that the inscription on the St. Mary's Church was directed at the patrons of some brothels that were operating across the street (I didn't know this before...just checked it up. but now i guess it makes even more sense to me ).

Well...have a nice week-end and don't forget...the clock is ticking away!!!

i like the 2nd picture...the way the subtle shadow falls on the church... wow...

oh my, look at the time... gtg

ps-love your summer colors entry, 3rd picture... great way to use depth of field

Abstract

Many might disagree with me, but I like this picture because it looks so abstract. In reality it's a water fountain photographed by night, but since i have a really bad cam it came out this way, which I think looks kind of nice.

abstract yet interesting! Wed 9-Aug-2006 11:07

summer colors

I had to post the pictures at these dimensions because of the file size...I hope that it doesn't bother people that much. In the week-end I bought a tripod since I didn't have one. I wasn't sure at that moment if it would be a good decision to spend my money on it, but now after last night I am glad that I did. I guess it's much easier to take photos with a tripod, especially with my camera which is very sensitive to every movement.

So last night I went to the park downtown and there wasn't much to photograph around there, but there were a lot of nice green spaces and I got the idea of shooting flowers, since recently i was looking over some website that had as a theme flower pictures. It is the first time when I'm photographing flowers so there's a lot of space for improvement.

I wanted to say one more thing...which is more of a request...i see from the statistics that quite a number of people(for a begginer) is visiting my fp everyday so it would be nice if you could also drop a line from time to time just to make sure that i'm not posting for myself here and get to know your opinion about it.

*listening to: Janet Jackson "Someone to call my lover"(it always puts me in a good mood)

Love the 3rd Image with Sharp Center and blurred over the edge .

1st image : The background slight distraction.
2nd image : Red is too strong.

Do not get me wrong, I am just a Hobbyist ...just my Humble Opinion

Sunset in Linkoping...

As I said before the sky is usually very beautiful here in Sweden...well...not during the past few days when it rained a lot...now it resembles a lot the weather in Holland, but lets hope that will change soon.

Something that I really like here in Linkoping is the pine forest really close to where I live. It kind of reminds me of the mountains in Romania...I seldom miss Romania, but when I do it is the mountains that I miss...the fresh air, the view, the food...There are no mountains here in Linkoping so I guess the forest will do. Nature is really pretty in Sweden.

Have a great week-end y'all!!

nature in Linkoping

This picture is taken the same day with the previous ones and actually the tree represents my finish line when I jog in the evenings. I'm always happy when I see this tree

Shadows

Last night we had a walk around the area and decided to bring my cam along. It was during the sunset and the sky was beautiful, as it usually is in Sweden.
I wanted to post these pics at a later time, but my "model" *chuckles* really liked them and wanted to see them on the page. So this is for Stefan, who always has patience with me when I'm taking lots of photos of him before I get a right one.

Sunset and silhouette. Love it!!!
ps: Thanks for the comments
